\nIce rinks do not necessarily belong to the area of cryogenic refrigeration. Nevertheless, they show the extraordinary range of applications for L&R refrigeration systems and the flexibility of L&R when it comes to intelligent, efficient solutions for refrigeration tasks.<\/p>\n

A pilot project a few years ago demonstrated that ice rinks can be operated with considerably less energy by using L&R refrigeration systems. Since then, L&R has continued building facilities for ice rinks. One of the special features of these ice rinks is a meteo control system that takes weather conditions into account and thus allows the system to operate in a predicative manner. This, together with an overall energy-efficient construction and the L&R systems specially designed for the special conditions of ice rinks, results in energy savings of around 50% when compared to conventional ice rink facilities.<\/p>\n
